Leslie Scatchard

Biography

After thirty years as a teacher, Leslie Scatchard is turning her sights to teaching privately at her home at Pretty Much Ranch in Petaluma.  Leslie has always loved creating integrated units, particularly in the areas of history, language arts, and theater.  So now that she can call the shots, she will be bringing her favorite subjects together in some interesting and creative ways!

Taking her years of experience as an elementary school teacher, Leslie has created several online courses especially for homeschoolers.  These units use the thematic unit approach to teaching which has always served Leslie well.  Check them out on the Online Classes page!

Leslie fell in love with the stage early in life, so coupling that with her teaching experience, she began directing Greeley Kids' Theatre Company in the Sierra foothills of California. She grew a program for children that quickly became a local "hit".  She directed Petaluma Kids Theatre until 2016.  She is still available for private acting classes for kids.

Leslie has been active with West Side Stories, a Petaluma story-slam event based on the model of The Moth in New York City. She has created two solo shows based on her life stories.  Need a performer for an upcoming event?  Check them out on the Solo Shows page.
